Our Annual Pumpkin Carving Party

Happy Halloween!

Last night was the annual Pumpkin Carving Party at my parent’s house. That guy in the front is my brother, Andrew.

Luke working away at his pumpkin. He carved four different pictures on each side of his.

Jordan decided he wanted a shark pumpkin. Guess who got to carve all those pointy teeth?

After the carving we always line up the jack-o-lanterns on my mom’s hearth for an annual group photo.

My sister-in-law, Kristen, always does something creative.  This year it was turning the pumpkin on it’s side and using the vine for a nose.  Isn’t he great?!

Pumpkins by my little cousin Rose.

More pumpkins….

The vote one is mine.  I think I did that 4 yrs ago, too.  I need to find the shot.  I was going for a spooky eye, but my “O” looks more like a moon, I think.

There’s all those pointy teeth – came out pretty good.  Jordan was pleased, anyway.

Pumpkins taking over the pretty fireplace.

And one more group close-up for the road.

As always, it was super fun! And my cousin Jon showed me the “proper” way, if there is such a thing, to remove pumpkin seeds so as to end up with less stringy guts from the get-go.

If you have a fave pumpkin seed recipe, I’d love to hear it!  I don’t have one yet.

Have fun & stay safe tonight!
