Hello, friends! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. I really do have a bunch of things to show you, but the more you do that’s bloggable, the less time you have to blog, right?
This cute bracelet was an easy-peasy craft I did one day when I just needed something quick and fun, you know? Lune’s Wrapped Bangle Tutorial inspired me. Love the filming/music of the video. I want to try something like that!
But for some reason, I wasn’t really feeling the basic macrame. So I thought I’d crochet on a wooden one I’d found at a thrift store. I’ve had the idea in the back of my head since I saw the Bohemian Bangles in Crochet Today’s April/May 2007 issue. But that wasn’t working either. At least not what I was trying (which of course was not following the pattern. Why can’t I follow a pattern, even when I want something fast & easy?! Silliness.)
So I went back to Lune’s macrame & combined it with my wooden bracelet. Easy-peasy. Finally. Like I said, sometimes I’m silly.
So, what are you up to? We’ve been enjoying the last days of summer.
I’m really trying to concentrate on winding down the summer well & prepare for fall. This includes last trips to the beach, finishing the reorganization/clean-up of the basement, making crafty business plans, organizing the boys’ clothing and figuring out what they need for school, etc..
And tonight I’m watching the Hurricane Irene news on CNN while getting text updates from my friend in NYC about what people are up to there.
Stay dry, friends!
p.s. Is bloggable a word? It is in my world. But maybe not in Scrabble. Which is my new favorite “I need a 5 minute break” pasttime on my phone.

I love your new bracelet! I’ve been meaning to do something similar with wrapping African fabric around a bangle.
Hey, me too! I can’t wait to see yours!
That is so ironic! I tried to make the same crochet bracelet and couldn’t make it work either. It’s still in the bottom of one of my project bags. I can’t follow a pattern either. I always end up changing it. It’s like my brain refuses to do it someone else’s way. This will be great for fall!
Glad you like it! Mine was starting to work, but I just didn’t have the flow down like Lune did. I got too impatient, I think. I’ll try again sometime though, because my boys are all into friendship bracelets at the moment. :)
